Meet Coach Katie

Katie learned at an early age that patience, consistency in training, and the power of positivity are essential to enjoying the process en route to personal goals.

After joining her middle school cross country team, Katie fell in love with running and began dreaming of becoming a professional runner. In high school, Katie ran for a competitive team in New Jersey that qualified for the Nike Cross Country National Championships. During this time, she learned the importance of patience and trusting her coach’s process. Katie went on to compete at Shippensburg University where she helped lead the team to multiple Conference Championship titles, earn 8 NCAA DII All-American Honors, and earn her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science.

As a pro athlete, Katie has competed at 5 Team USA international competitions and qualified for the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Marathon Trials. She has over 10 years of coaching experience across all ages and abilities, including middle school, high school, and adults. Katie is currently the Head Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach at Notre Dame Preparatory in Scottsdale, AZ.

Katie's dedication to athlete well-being and personalized coaching recently expanded with a significant personal and professional development. As a new mother herself, navigating an early arrival and a NICU journey with her son Wesley, Katie gained profound firsthand insight into the unique demands on the body and mind during the postpartum period. This personal experience fueled her commitment to further education, leading her to earn the UESCA Coaching the Pregnant and Postpartum Endurance Athlete Specialization certification. This advanced training equips her to expertly guide pregnant and postpartum athletes through safe, effective, and supportive return-to-running journeys, prioritizing long-term health and sustainable performance.

Katie is a VDOT O2 certified coach and an RRCA Level 1 Certified Coach.
